Station Casinos And The Great GiveawayLas Vegas—For the past 20 years, the Station Casinos $1 Million Great Giveaway Football Contest has marked the official launch of the football season. Voted “Best Football Contest” in Las Vegas 12 years in a row, registration for this football tradition begins Sunday, August 6, at all seven Station Casinos properties—Palace Station, Boulder Station, Texas Station, Sunset Station, Santa Fe Station, Green Valley Ranch Resort, Spa and Casino, and Red Rock Casino, Resort and Spa. A $25 entry fee registers players to compete for their share of $1 million in cash prizes. Each week of the Great Giveaway football fans have the chance to take home their share of $30,000 in prize winnings. By the end of the 17-week regular NFL football season, the 100 top contestants in the winning and losing categories will score additional prizes totaling $290,000, with the player picking the most winners walking off the field with $100,000, and the player choosing the most losers taking home $50,000.
In addition to the weekly and end-of-season prizes, a contestant who has selected an equal number of wins and losses for the season will receive the $200,000 “Fiddle in the Middle” cash prize. In the event of a tie the prize will be divided equally among all contestants who have achieved a half-half ratio record. “Great Giveaway has always been our most popular contest,” said Art Manteris, the Company’s vice president of race and sports for Station Casinos. “Now in its 20th year, our guests are still having fun playing and winning. As long as they keep having fun, Great Giveaway will easily be around for another twenty years.”
There is a $25 fee per entry. Guests are limited to two paid entries per person. All guests who purchase two entries by 10:00 a.m. on the date the 2006 Pro Football regular season begins will receive a free bonus third entry and $25 in free slot play. For the purchase of one contest entry, a bonus $10 in free slot play will be credited to the guest’s Boarding Pass Card. Contestants must be 21 or older and be a Boarding Pass cardholder. Boarding Pass Points or Station Bucks may be used for payment of entry fees. Contestants may register and submit weekly selections for the $1 Million Great Giveaway with their Boarding Pass card at Palace Station, Boulder Station, Texas Station, Sunset Station, Santa Fe Station, Green Valley Ranch Resort, Spa and Casino, or Red Rock Casino, Resort and Spa beginning August 6. For added convenience, easy-to-use computer kiosks at each location allow contestants to register their weekly picks 24-hours a day.
